after nice, we went to a small village called eze (nice and eaaasy) and visited fragonard, a parfumerie. we toured the factory, where nearly everything is still done by hand. and we learned about "the nose," the person responsible for creating perfumes. noses can smell and identify over 3000 scents!
later that night we visited the monte carlo casino in monaco. it cost 10 euro just to get in, and since i'm not very interested in gambling we went to a cheaper casino next store. i got the smallest beer in the world for 7 euro.
we stayed in a hostel right on the coast, and it actually snowed on sunday morning, which is super rare for the area. we went to cannes on sunday, but since it was cold and snowy i ended up hanging out in cafes and restaurants with my friends instead of wandering around.
this week we'll be meeting our french language partners and choosing where to travel for winter break in two weeks!
the market in nice. we got the best strawberries i've ever had.

ReplyDeleteI could easily look it up but....what is the exchange rate euro to dollar. When you talk euro I don't know if you're talking............... mucho dinero o un poco? In french not spanish of course!
ReplyDeleteWait...Jeff...her "winter break" is like our "spring break." Right Kim?
ReplyDeletenanette: 7 euro is almost 10 dollars. the exchange rate is kicking me in the ass, in addition to everything being over-priced here.
ReplyDeletecait and jeff: i have two week long breaks. my first one starts on friday, and the second one is in april. =) welcome to france and their many vacation weeks.
